IHSFCA Hall of fame coach Don Tanney brings 28 years of coaching experience, with 24 of those years as a head coach. He led his team to the IHSA state playoffs 20 out of 24 years as a head coach. With an overall coaching record of 187 - 67 he recorded 5 quarterfinal appearances, 3 semi-final appearances, and one state final appearance.

Alex’s standout career started while playing for his father at Lexington (2003 - 2006) where he set nearly every school passing record and led his team to the IHSA semi-finals. He was twice named an Illinois All-State quarterback. He continued his career at Monmouth College (2007 - 2011) where he was a 4 year starter and 4 year captain for the Scots. While there, he guided Monmouth to three Midwest Conference Championships and three NCAA playoff berths. By the time of his graduation, he had become the NCAA All-Division all time leader in touchdowns thrown (157) and the NCAA Division III all time leader in passing yards (14,249).

After graduating from Monmouth College, Alex was signed by the Kansas City Chiefs as an undrafted free agent and spent one season with the Chiefs. Alex started the 2013 season as a member of the practice squad for the Dallas Cowboys before being claimed by the Cleveland Browns midway through the season. After leaving the Browns, Alex started the 2014 season with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and finished with the Tennessee Titans. In 2015 he was a member of the Buffalo Bills, Indianapolis Colts, and finished the year back in Nashville with the Titans. He is currently a member of the Titans.
